A Dedicated Volunteer Helps Brings a Dream to Life in Anne Arundel County
We are thrilled about our landmark partnership with Bodkin Elementary this Spring, which will bring DTP’s specialized training to the Bodkin school community in Pasadena, Maryland. This historic endeavor owes its origins to the more than two decades of dedication and tireless efforts of one remarkable volunteer.
A long-time and stellar volunteer with our program, who has been involved with DTP for more than 20 years, lives right in the heart of the Bodkin Elementary community. For years, she not only tutored with DTP, she championed the crucial need to bring multisensory reading instruction and structured literacy training to the teachers and volunteers in her neighborhood school. Her commitment to closing the literacy gap for children in her own community has finally come to fruition!
This partnership marks a significant milestone: our first-ever DTP Tutor Training course scheduled to kick off in Anne Arundel County, MD, at the end of March 2026. This training will empower local educators and community members to deliver high-quality, evidence-based reading instruction, creating a powerful ripple effect for countless students and exponentially expanding DTP’s impact. We look forward to a successful launch and the positive outcome this will have on Bodkin Elementary School’s community and beyond.

- Q2 2026 – DTP Cohort 3 – 6 Week Course Starts April 20th! Meets Online twice a week – Monday & Wednesday from 6pm to 8:30pm. Last 2 classes (5/25, 5/27) meet in person; location TBD.

- Q2 2026 – DTP Cohort 4 – Starts April 28th! Meets Online twice a week Tuesday & Thursday from 12pm to 3:00pm. Last 2 classes (5/26, 5/28) meet in person; location TBD.
- Q2 2026 – DTP Cohort 5 – Starts April 21st! Meets Online twice a week Tuesday from 6:00pm to 8:30pm and Saturday from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Last Saturday (5/30) class is 3 hours, from 9am to 12:00pm. No class on Saturday 5/17, Saturday 5/23 (Memorial Day Weekend).
