Our Partners

Dyslexia Tutoring Program (DTP) partners with schools, community organizations, and other nonprofits throughout Baltimore to broaden our range of services and support our students in learning and life.

Summer Camps

Each summer, DTP partners with the Jemicy School in Owings Mills, MD and the Odyssey School in Lutherville, MD to send as many students as we can to day camps designed for dyslexic learners. Our summer camp program offers exceptional summer learning opportunities that combine intensive, tailored instruction with a nurturing, supportive environment to help our students develop both academically and personally.

Health & Wellbeing

DTP and Jewish Community Services work together to offer Be Well – after school mental wellness sessions during the school year. Professional facilitators help our students and their parents learn how to cope with the challenges that accompany learning differences as well as those confronting today’s youth at school and in their communities.

Community Empowerment

We also partner with organizations in our community that are working toward systemic lasting shifts in the landscape that will increase educational, personal and financial opportunity for learners who have been left out of the conversation in the past.

Ways To Partner

We are always looking for new ways to engage with our community and reach as many students as possible. You can help us do this. How?

Thanks to our community partners, DTP is able to offer its students unique and enriching experiences that motivate them to learn and encourage their dreams. These programs use hands-on activities, experiential learning, creative expression, and problem solving to build skills and confidence. Activities such as art, drama, or STEM are especially powerful for dyslexic learners. And programs in workforce development and financial literacy help ensure success after school. If you have a program that you think could benefit our students, we’d love to connect! And if DTP can help support students or clients in your program, we’d love to talk!

Do you have space that can be used for training or tutoring?

DTP offers Orton-Gillingham tutor training in greater Baltimore and we’re always seeking accessible locations. If you have space for 8–15 participants, you can help us train more volunteers—and reach more students!

We also look for safe, public spaces conducive to tutoring – like libraries or community centers – where tutors and students can meet weekly. If your organization is able to offer tutoring space, please get in touch.

Help us bring the gift of reading to others… The more people who know about DTP, the more students we can serve. The more students we serve, the more greatness we unleash! Share our mission with friends, teachers, neighbors, and coworkers. Your referral can help enroll a student, recruit a tutor—and change a life. Know of events, publications, or outreach opportunities? Other ways to for us to reach students who need us, or volunteers looking to help? Let us know!
