Want To Be A Tutor?
Volunteer tutors are the backbone of our mission: ensuring everyone – no matter how they learn or what they earn – can learn to read and live with hope. If you are looking for a way to make a lasting difference in someone’s life, your community, and the future – become a volunteer tutor with Dyslexia Tutoring program!
As a volunteer tutor, you receive 30 hours of free Level I Orton-Gillingham training - a structured, multisensory approach to reading, writing, and spelling - to prepare you to work with dyslexic learners. This training is provided free of charge in return for your commitment to tutor a student in our program at least once a week for a total of 60 hours.

One hour a week can change a life!
After you complete the training, we match you with a student from our waiting list. And together you work toward one of the most basic and important life skills anyone can have – the ability to read.
Throughout tutoring we've got your back - you receive ongoing support through monthly mentoring sessions, periodic in-depth workshops, and dedicated staff. We provide all tutoring materials, supplies and resources to ensure you and your student succeed.
DTP tutors come from all walks of life and range in age from college students to retirees. But they all have one thing in common - the passion, purpose, and patience to turn struggling readers into thriving students.
